Fortifying the Eighteenth-century Garden, from Castle Howard to Goldney: this talk will look at how fortified walls with turrets, bastions, sham castles and ravelins became immensely popular features of the C18th British garden. The Caldwell's Nurseries Project: a story of Cheshire gardens and gardeners told through the archives of Caldwell's Nurseries of Knutsford. The Nurseries operated for more than 200 years supplying many of the great gardens of Cheshire and beyond, until they closed in 1992.
